Egg Incubators for Poultry Farmers
Story: Tra Vinh province is one of the poorest in the Mekong Delta with limited natural resources. The province has a population of over 1 million with 30% being Khmer ethnic minority. There are around 46,460 poor households in Tra Vinh Province.
Problem: Most of the residents in these provinces make their ends’ meet by either growing paddy or raising poultry. However, due to insufficient access to new technology, these are still carried out in a traditional way, leading to very low production and income. Therefore, these residents are now living in abject poverty and live on meagre meals every day.
Solution: The Consular Club has purchased 30 egg incubators for the impoverished poultry farmers which has enabled them to significantly increase production, income and achieve financial independence.
