Supply of Hospital Beds in Tri Ton District
Story: Tri Ton district is one of the poorest districts of An Giang province, which is located in the border of Vietnam and Cambodia. People in the districts are from ethnic groups, most live in mountain and facing many difficulties in their daily life. 76% of population of Tri Ton lives in the countryside (farming)
Problem: Tri Ton is free medical center for the poor people in the district and other province in Mekong Delta, all expenses contributed by the local citizens. Its infrastructure has been downgraded and there is a serious shortage of medical equipment. The medical facility simply does not have enough beds to cater to the high number of patients who come every day; this is made worse by the number of beds that have broken due simply to their age and excessive use.
Solution: The Consular Club has fully funded the purchase of new hospital beds for the medical center. These beds will directly benefit about 1,000 patients per year.
